Our focus will be to incorporate the teachings of great philosophers and theorists of nonviolence from Tolstoy and Gandhi to Martin Luther King, Mandela and Gene Sharp to the current Iranian struggle for democracy and how the Iranian celebrations can be applied as acts of civil disobedience. We believe the desire for nonviolence and democracy in Iran is not just an Iranian dream, but a dream of humanity. We believe a free and democratic Iran will not only bring peace and stability to Iranians, but will help set in motion a tremendous shift towards peace and democracy throughout the Middle East. In addition, such a shift for peace in Middle East, the most volatile region on earth, can significantly influence the future of peace for all human beings in the 21st century and allow a tremendous global focus on issues such as the environment, education, poverty and the gradual elimination of weapons of warfare, including nuclear weapons.
